I needed a table for extra work space when sewing and crafting. Who knew this table would turn out to be so versatile! It’s a terrific buy and exceeds my expectations.
Description
The table top measures 48" x 24" and is a white-granite color. It is constructed of Polyethylene, a hard, durable plastic. A steel frame lends strength and stability to the table, and the steel is treated with a weather-resistant finish. The legs are also made from steel and fold so that the table is compact and easy to transport or store. The legs fold flat against the table bottom and there is a clip that holds them in place. This table is designed for indoor and outdoor use and weighs about 23 pounds. Best yet, the table is completely assembled. Just unfold it and use it.
Another great feature is that this table has three height adjustments. I’ve never seen this in another table, and I love the feature. The three height adjustments are: 23" (great height for children), 29" (good in-between height), 36" (the height I mostly use).

What is Polyethylene?
Lifetime Products makes this table using a virtually indestructible plastic called Polyethylene. It will not chip, crack or peel ... which is great, particularly if young children are using the table. This table surface is stain resistant, too. The manufacturer says that even red punch, mustard, permanent marker, and motor oil will not stain the table top. So far I haven’t had to test this feature, but it’s nice knowing it is resistant to staining.
How Much Weight Will the Table Hold?
If I had to pick one thing to complain about, it is that the manufacturer does not say how much weight the table will hold. The Lifetime Products customer service representative I spoke with could not tell me due to “liability reasons”. She also mentioned that it is a good idea to evenly distribute the weight on the table so it is less likely to tip over during use. With the type of projects I use this table for, I haven’t had a problem with stability. The Lifetime Products website states that the table meets BIFMA standards for strength and durability, and there is a link to further read about the BIFMA standards.
What about the Metal parts -- Will they rust?
The manufacturer does not guarantee the metal from rusting. However, the steel frame is treated with a powder coating to help the metal resist weathering. The metal is coated with a special eletctro-statically charged powder and is then baked at a high temperature. This process is more durable than paint-protected metals. Should the metal become scratched or begin to rust, the manufacturer recommends lightly sanding the area and applying rust-preventative spray primer, then spraying with a high-gloss spray enamel paint.
Will the table fade outdoors?
Each table has a UV inhibitor to, as the manufacturer says, “... help prevent fading and maintain the integrity of the polyethylene when exposed to sunlight providing years of color.” Lifetime Products does not guarantee the table top will not fade.
Cleaning the Table Top
Easy and simple. All that is needed to clean the table is a damp cloth and mild dishwashing detergent. (My favorite soap is Dawn dishwashing liquid.) I haven’t had a problem with tough-to-remove substances, but the manufacturer recommends using Soft Scrub for stubborn dirt.

The 48" x 24" table cost $39.99 at BJ’s Wholesale. They also sell matching chairs that fold, but I did not purchase any. Other stores that sell these tables include: Lowe’s, Costco, Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, Office Max and Staples.
Summary
The height-adjustment makes this table even more versatile. If you need an extra table, I suggest you give this table a try. It’s portable and folds for storage. Also, it is compact enough to fit in a car. I like it!

Warranty, Registration & Contact Information
This product has a 10-year limited Warranty. Lifetime Products states, “This warranty does not cover scratching, scuffing or other cosmetic damage that may result from normal use of the product. In addition, defects resulting from intentional damage, negligence or unreasonable use will void this warranty.” Save your sales receipt; you will need it to make a claim against the warranty.
If you register your product on Lifetime’s website, they will enter you in a monthly drawing for $200.00. They will also enter your name in their database in case there is a recall or additional product information you need to know.
