| skfayer's Full Review: Lift and Lock Swing |
This swing delights my child daily (sometimes more than twice daily!) It is a comfortable, fun toy which never bores children and can supplement visits to the park. It can be hung anywhere.. a tree or beam, or even under a porch if you install heavy duty hooks. A yellow bar snaps into the base, though we decided not to unlock it ever once we found out about the recall.. we just use it like a park swing (manoever her legs in).
Pros
*high back: provides neck support for young toddlers
*rope and hooks included
*bright colors
*two drainage holes in body of swing to keep it dry
*plastic has not cracked or broken with time
Cons
*Over a hundred injuries have been reported as a direct result from the design of this swing (including broken limbs and concussions). The swing does not hold in toddlers adequately, and the restraint can unlock spontaneously or by a child. For recall information, read the website http://www.service.mattel.com/us/recall.asp to order an extra belt system for free. It is easy to install and your child will be safe.
*color fades from sun
*rope frays and will need replacement in a couple years
I'm giving this swing only an average rating because of the recall, fading, & rope problem, but my daughter would want me to say (if she could talk!) that she still loves it dearly!
