| susiee's Full Review: Light-Up Baby Ball |
My family loves VTech toys. My husband used to have a VTech computer, so when we had our first baby he ran out and bought a whole ton of VTech toys.
We bought the light up ball for our second baby, even though we already had a talking baby ball by another manufacturer.
The lights on this toy really catch my baby's attention. The music and voice sounds are a good quality, not a dull computery sound. My son has picked out his favorite button (the dog) and pushes it often to hear the song How Much is That Doggie in the Window.
The ball is heavy, but rolls fairly well. A big plus is that when you roll the ball, a button is almost always pressed and makes the ball talk. THe other ball we have took a while before my son was strong enough to press the buttons and make the sounds come on. However, as your child gets older, watch out for throwing it. This ball should NOT be thrown! It is very heavy and hard and can hurt someone or break things (as I found out the hard way).
After 11 months, my son still likes to listen to this ball and play with it. Now he really enjoys pushing it in front of him as he crawls. This can be used to encourage kids to crawl, by placing it just out of their reach, or when they push it too far, they may try crawling to get to it.
The toy has two settings. In one, the buttons say words and in the other it plays a song. My son prefers the music setting. The words are very clear and easy to understand.
