Great Book for the Beginner

Written: Mar 09 '00
Pros:Easy to understand, good basic information
Cons:Not for the advanced user, just basic information, not indepth

I first started reading Linda Goodman’s astrology books when I was about 10 years old. My aunt had a copy of several of her books, Love Signs, Star Signs, and this book.

I read all three of them, fascinated. This was the beginning of my fascination with Astrology. As an adult, not only did I buy Linda Goodman’s books, but I bought other Astrology books as well that helped me plot a person’s birth chart, I’ve gotten into Tarot Cards, and Numerology as well.

In my opinion, this is a good book for someone who is just getting started exploring Astrology. It gives very basic information about the different sun signs and characteristics of women, men and children who possess these sun signs.

This helps you understand why a person with a certain sun sign will behave a certain way. She even includes how a boss or an employee will behave! While it’s true you may not necessarily know your boss’s date of birth, if you do happen to have that information, it could provide you some incite into his/her behavior and help you deal with him/her better.

This book has helped me understand each of my children’s personalities better. It has told me exactly what I can expect from my children, personality-wise and been right on the money with each one.

This book is also helpful for anyone who is on the dating scene. If you’ve met someone new, ask them the month and date of his/her birth. Then look it up in the book. You will then have a pretty good idea of what sort of person he/she is and whether or not the two of you will be compatible. While it’s true that you could read the description, and feel this person is perfect for you, just to find out they aren’t, it is also true that you can read the description and see that this person probably has a hair-trigger temper and decide that you don’t have the patience to deal with someone like that. Thus, you’ve avoided quite a bit of hassle.

This book is very easy to understand and doesn’t require that you be familiar with astrological terminology.

All in all, I would recommend this book for people who are new to Astrology, to people who would like something to add some fun to their next party or gathering of friends, or even to people who’s knowledge of Astrology only extends to reading their horoscope in the daily newspaper.
