| maybabe's Full Review: Lipton Iced Tea To Go Lemon 10 - Count Boxes Pack ... |
Since Lipton Iced Tea To Go came out with this new innovation of "Tea to Go"; Brewing tea at home is rarely done...
I'm totally hooked! Because it's portable, simple, quick, easy, and taste good too.
Lipton Iced Tea To Go comes packaged in a yellow box measuring about (3.0" wide) x (5.0" tall) and a little over (1.0" in depth).
Inside the box are 10 foiled type packets that are narrow and long. Each packet is designed to tear open at the top or just snip off with scissors. The "Lemon Flavor" packets are bright yellow in color; The "Peach Flavor" would have a peachy color, and so forth for the other flavors.
Comes in six tasty flavors of; Peach, Raspberry, Lemon, Cherry Blossom, Honey Lemon, and Mandarin/Mango.
I prefer drinking this tea over sodas because it contains no sugar, fat, sodium, or carbs. Plus it has 80mg. of protective flavonoid antioxidants per serving that's good for my health.
My preference is the "Lemon Flavor". The taste is light, crisp and refreshing. Doesn't bloat me up like sodas do.
I can taste the lemon too. The tea isn't quite as strong as I would personally brew it; But still it's pretty good and so handy. I've drank a lot of Lipton Iced Tea To Go since my first try.
I like the portability; Just tuck a couple in my purse or lunch bag for work. A box of ten is so compact in size, easy to fit inside the glove compartment for my convenience away from home anytime.
When I'm at work and get the urge for something wet and cold to drink; I'll go to the break room get a bottle of water. First I take a swallow to allow room for my tea and for the shaking.
Tear off the end of my Lipton Iced Tea packet then
pour directly into the bottle, recap and shake well. Usually it takes a couple minutes to dissolve the tea completely. The tea is very powdery in consistency, and the texture reminds me of "Bare Minerals" finely milled makeup; or similar to "Coffee Mate", Just to give you an idea.
Downside; Doesn't contain any essential vitamins of A, C, protein, calcium or iron; Which is no major concern for me. My vitamin requirements are consumed by food anyway...:)
This might be a good product for diabetics or for anyone watching their sugar intake. The tea taste like it's sweetened with sugar. There's no bitter or after-taste.
Splenda is used for the sweetener; Which is said to be made from real sugar...I haven't heard anything about side effects so far...I use Splenda in my coffee and oatmeal sometimes.
Lipton Iced Tea To Go can be purchased at most grocery stores. I've found it at Super Walmart, Kroger, and Ingles. The average price is around $3.00 for a box of ten packets.
I have caught it on sale for $1.88 at Ingles and sometimes 2 boxes for $5.00...and even 2 for $4.00, but rarely.
Ingredients; Instant tea, citric acid (provides tartness), maltodextrin, sucralose (Splenda brand) natural flavor, silicon dioxide (prevents caking).
