I love a clean, shiny car. In my opinion, very few things make a bolder statement than a car coming down the road that sparkles like 1 carat diamonds. I have tried many products that claim to offer long lasting protection, easy use, and a deep gloss shine. All of these products have led to disappointing results for me in one aspect or another. The only product that I have found to date that makes these claims and delivers is Liquid Glass.
Although I was intially put off by the $19 tag for a the 16 oz. can, this product has proved to be a value in the long run as one can will last much longer than any other 16 oz. bottle of wax because a little Liquid Glass will go a long way. Not to mention, I have used nothing on my 10 year old car but Liquid Glass and it still looks as good as it did when it rolled off the showroom floor. In addition, Liquid Glass has many uses around the home and can be used on many non-porus surfaces (please visit their website at www.liquidglass.com for further information).
Application of this product will require careful reading of the can to ensure you get optimal results. As with most car polishes/waxes, you must start with a clean dry car. If the surface is very dull and oxidized or recently waxed with another product, a pre-cleaner must be used to ensure the best results. Liquid Glass recommends using their precleaner but this is not widely available. Any reputable cleaner/compound will do. It must be applied to the surface in a straight back and forth motion. If this not done swirl marks may be present, especially on dark colored vehicles. After a slight haze appears, wipe it off with a soft, clean cloth. After this task is done, setting the vehicle out in the sun to "bake" for 4 hours is recommended to "cure" Liquid Glass to the surface. I usually skip this step as whenever I have set the vehicle out in the sun, birds usually enjoy "reliving" themselves on my car.
As long as the directions are followed, this by far is the easiest product to use. Applying a light coat of Liquid Glass to your vehicle and a little will go a long way. It applies very easy and buffs off with very little effort. One advantage of Liquid Glass is that you can either apply it to one section at a time or the entire car and it can still be easily removed. This takes out the stress of worrying about leaving the polish on too long and having it turn brick hard when trying to remove it.
The gloss is excellent. Being an acrylic based polish, it will provide a very clear mirror like shine that will last for a long time time with periodic applications. Liquid Glass is also extremely durable. Harsh cleaners used in car washes will not comprimise the integrity of the finish. Unlike most waxes/polishes that will be stripped off, Liquid Glass will still retain it's protective bond to the surface. Even thru extended harsh winter driving with road salt and other ice melting corrosives, these will have minimal effect on Liquid Glass and the surface it is bonded to.
In conclusion, Liquid Glass is by far the best polish I have used to date. It provides a durable long lasting brilliant shine that will by far outlast any other product without hard rubbing or buffing. Besides being an excellent auto polish, it can be used around the home for other polishing tasks. The high price tag may be a concern at first, but one will find this an excellent value in the long run when the true superior Liquid Glass proves itself to be unlike any other wax/polish created.
