Hi, I encourage anyone having problems with the Litter Robot to contact the company. After reading this review after mine starting having problems, I was very concerned that I was "stuck" for the $350....I was pleasantly surprised when I called the company, though I did have to go over the customer service person's head, who offered me a 10% discount on a new globe (the upper part of the system)--I told her that I expected more after paying $350 for the product.
I got a call back from the customer service supervisor saying that they were sending me a BRAND NEW GLOBE! I also got a call back from the owner of the company, and I can say that they really do seem to stand behind the product--especially since mine was already 2 1/2 years old. I heartily recommend the product---it's worth every penny!

It did work very well for the 2 years, but we are struggling with the idea of paying $150 a year for this. The fact that their customer service department ignores someone having an issue adds salt to the wound...

Ours is still working after about 3 years. I agree though, at this price, you'd really expect this to run without problems for a long long time.

Our litter-robot broke after 2 years, and we've been unable to get anyone from the litter-robot company to even acknowledge us or help us out, so it's interesting to read your comment about the excellent support. One interesting item, after we sent an e-mail asking for some advice on how we might fix or reset our current litter robot, they sent a friend of ours information on a rebate for 20% off the new model, but ignored us completely.

Litter Robot - I love it! (Reply to this comment)

With two cats I was constantly scooping the litter box. I tried 2 other automatic litter boxes but they were a joke. It took about a day and a half for my cats to adjust to the new space-age litter box, but they adapted well. My life is so easy now. The cleaning is a breeze and none of us mind the sound of the robot in it's cycle. I highly recommend this product for anyone who HATES to scoop litter boxes.

My sister was so happy with her litter robot that she offered to buy one for me!!

I plan on getting it myself, and even though I won't have more than one robot (we foster kittens as well) I will probably regret that somewhere down the line.

And I love the comment about "out of the box thinking".....so clever!
Don't know if I'm ready to plop down the money, but it certainly seems very, very cool.
Thanks!

Thank you, thank you.

It is a concise, easy to read, organized review. Way to go.

It's an odd looking box, but I'm going to check into it.

A Most Informative Review... (Reply to this comment)

Thank you for this review... As the owner of one cat, {I really can't imagine anyone having any more, as the cat box issue is so overwhelming for me with just the one, *lol*}, I have been on the lookout for just such a leap in technology...

Your review explained just 'how' the thing works, and for that I am very grateful... I have read the testimonials at the Litter Robot website and was very encouraged by them, but was having difficulty understanding the 'mechanics' of the thing... having your review here is icing on the cake, *s*

To say that I am saving my pennies for this machine is an understatement, *lol*... The cost was an absolute 'shock' to me... When I read the testimonials off to my husband, who was sitting nearby, he kept going, 'Uh-huh, how much?' as men do, *lol*... I told him, 'I can't tell you, you'll hit the ceiling... besides, I'm not over the shock myself', *lol*

Well, a few days have passed, and the shock has, indeed, worn off... It comes to roughly a dollar-a-day for less than a year, has an 18-month warranty, and for the ease and convenience, I am sold... especially after having cleaned the cat box yet again this very day, *ugh*...

Now, to just save those pennies fast enough, *lol*

Thanks again for a great review, *s*

Cats: a blessing (in ways) and a challenge in others. Do I even need to mention that I loathe litterbox issues? We are currently using the LitterMaid. We alternate between that and a traditional sort of box.

Take care!
