Pros:Sinfully delicious, chocolaty treats sure to satisfy cravings, easily portable, inexpensive.
Cons:Not the greatest health-wise, but most similar treats aren't purchased for health value
The Bottom Line: Recommended in moderation as a sweet treat that can help to satisfy a sweet tooth and stave off cravings. An enjoyable snack that is delicious, inexpensive, and easily portable.
I like to keep an assortment of snacks around for those times whenever we get a craving for a sweet treat. Little Debbie Snacks are some of our favorites around our house. We enjoy a variety of these snacks including Swiss Cake Rolls, Cosmic Brownies, and Fudge Rounds. The Little Debbie Fudge Rounds are a delicious chocolaty treat featuring two soft, chewy chocolate cookies sandwiching a chocolate cream filling, then drizzled with a chocolate icing.
Each 9.5 oz package of Fudge Rounds contains 8 individually wrapped chocolaty treats. They work great as a snack or dessert, and are easy to pack into a lunchbox, or take along for school, work, or car trips. Besides being a handy snack for those on the go the cellophane wrapped treats are a good way to control portions. Instead of blindly grabbing a slightly larger piece of cake, pie or brownies, or just one more cookie from the cookie jar, you have to make a conscious effort to actually open a second snack cake.
Each of these sinfully delicious treats measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter, yet has a big chocolate taste, enough to satisfy even the worst cravings. They go great alone or with a glass of milk.
Like the other Little Debbie Snacks, these are rather inexpensive. You can pick up the 9.5 ounce box for under $2, which is much less than the cost of Hostess or other similar snacks. Additionally, you can also purchase a larger box, or you can pick these up as individual snacks, although the price is higher when purchased individually.
One Fudge Round is considered a serving, and contains 150 calories, 23g carbs, and 85mg sodium. You also get 6% RDA of Iron, and no cholesterol, so it isn't all bad. Admittedly, these aren't one the healthiest of snacks, out there but are acceptable as an occasional treat.
I recommend enjoying these in moderation because of the higher calorie and sodium count, but since we don't generally buy this type of snack foods for their nutritional value, I can easily recommend them on flavor and value alone.
