Note: Epinions only has one Fisher-Price farm listed under products. The review I am doing is actually on the Little People Animal Sounds Farm , which is a bit different. To the best of my knowledge, the Little People Animal Sounds Farm has replaced the "Little People Farm" listed in this catagory.
The Little People Animal Sounds Farm made by Fisher-Price is a classic toy that has been enjoyed by generation after generation of children.
The Animal Sounds Farm is a bright red farm that unfolds for easy play and hours of fun and laughter. The farm includes the following:
Cow
Horse
Chicken
Pig
Lamb
Farmer Jed
Scarecrow
Wagon (for the Horse)
Windmill
“Weather-Vane” Chicken
Bag of Oats
Each animal has its own place, which has its picture and makes its appropriate noise. For example, the cow has a little stall with pictures of other cows on the wall and when you open the door it “moo’s”. The floor by the door also plays “Old MacDonald” when pressed, and Farmer Jed can be tossed off his bed and out the window with a turn of a knob on the side of the barn.
The Animal Sounds Farm encourages imagination and teaches children to put two and two together. Children are captivated by the bright colors, recognizable “characters” and realistic noises. This is a toy that will be played with, not just tossed to the side and forgotten about.
The toy is very durable and easy to clean. The barn is made of a hard plastic and the animals and Farmer Jed are made of a soft, squishy plastic. The whole set can be easily wiped down. The pieces are big enough to be safe and not to lose very easily. The pieces from this set can also be used with the other Little People play sets.
The Animal Sounds Farm takes batteries, but my two-year old daughter has been playing with her barn since the beginning of December, and the batteries are still going on strong.
I found the toy on-sale at Target near Christmas for $19.99. It also came with a Little People book and a video too!
I recommend this toy to any child, infant through pre-school. Not only will they enjoy seeing and hearing the animals, but they will learn so much from their role-playing and easy matching of sounds and objects. This is a toy that will last for years to come, just like most other Fisher-Price toys.
