My children are all huge Little People character fans, so many of the characters sold separately have been purchases we have made. While many of the sets can get pricey, the individual pieces can often range between $5 - $10 and be a very affordable option for a small treat, gift, stocking stuffer, or what have you. This Little People Doctor Danielle & Dentist Dan purchase was made because I was looking for a small gift my then 3 year old daughter could recieve as part of her Christmas holiday party. (parents are asked to purchase and wrap a gift specific for their child) I knew my daughter was becoming more and more aware of the doctor and dentist offices, and I felt these Little People would help her (and us!) create some scenes and role playing at home ... and I was right!
We purchased the Little People Doctor Danielle & Dentist Danduo at a local supercenter for around $6.00 for the 2 figures. They each come dressed as their profession and have a tool in their hand. (the tool stays attached and cannot be pulled loose) Additionally, there is a small stethoscope in the packaging.
Danielle is the doctor and she comes as a pose-able figure with the newer Little People design. She is easily identified as a doctor. Dan is the dentist and similarly to Danielle he is pose-able as well. He is also easy to identify as a dentist. These figures can sit, stand and hold things in their hand - and are similar to the style of many of the newer Little People character designs I have seen on the market. I like that Fisher Price made this Little People duo a male and female - especially since my daughter's doctor is a woman and her dentist a man!
I feel that we got a really good value out of this duo. We don't really have any other medical "scenes" but my daughter uses Danielle and Dan in the Little People house, castle, and various vehicles that we own. She is easily able to tell at her age who is the doctor and who is the dentist (the dentist has a toothbrush in his pocket, etc) and since she's been to both offices she is able to use her experiences to role play. We were also able to use Dan in particular to talk to her about her first visit to the dentist office and she did a really nice job and had no fears and difficulties!
I think Little People Doctor Danielle & Dentist Dan is a great duo to add to any family's collection. There is a lot of imaginative play, and whenever one of the other Little People characters get hurt, my daughter is always quick to look for Doctor Danielle to come and help them. She uses language appropriate for our doctor's visits, and I enjoy that she is making the connection and understanding our visits, and that the doctor is our friend, not always going to give out shots, and there to help you.
I think if you are shopping for a small gift for a Little People fan, the Little People Doctor Danielle & Dentist Dan duo is a great purchase to make ... and great for some imaginative play!
