This is another wonderful learning toy from V Tech. The Sing 'n Smile Pals toy really teaches them quite alot for such a small toy. Again, this toy required no assembly.
My son received this as a gift from his grandparents as he has all his other V Tech toys. Each toy is better then the next and they all really do teach him something.
This toy can sit flat on any surface. It has an easy on-off switch on the left hand side with 2 different ways to turn the switch. At the top of the toy are to me what I call plastic animals. Included in these are bunnies, dogs, cats and ducks. Each one seems to be on a spring, so that they can pull them with no resistance to make them make the appropriote sounds. That works when the on switch is pushed to the right. There are also 4 shapes, a triangle, square, star and circle numbered 1 - 4. Each one in a different color. Again, as the switch is to the right, as they push on the shapes, it counts and you guessed it 1 -4. There are also, towards the bottom of the toy, what looks like piano keys, with the first 4 letters of the alphabet on them. They are in capitols and lower case starting with A and ending with E. When the switch is towards the right, the lettered keys play music.
Now, when you turn the switch to the left, the animals tell you what they are and the same with the shapes, example....the triangle will say the color that it is and then say triangle. The piano keys tell you what letter of the alphabet it is. There is also to the right of the toy, what I would call a chipmunk with a ball in its stomach that turns very easily and that plays, London Bridges. For just about $27.00, what more could you ask for.
I really do like this toy and it has taught my son plenty. He learned his shapes from this toy and he also learned how to sing London Bridges. This is another toy that he still enjoys playing with. I would recommend this to any parent.
