Several years ago now when my oldest son was a preschooler, he received this Little Tikes Big Semi Truck as a gift one year for Christmas. Because Kameron loved playing with toy vehicles and since his dad happened to drive a similar truck over the road at the time, this was one of his favorite role play vehicles. And now his love of toy trucks like this one has been passed down to his younger brother, Tristan. So while cleaning out our basement a few weeks ago, we found this durable toy in almost new condition packed away with many other toys we saved from Kameron's younger days. Now this hand-me-down belongs to 2 year old Tristan, and he's experienced lots of imaginative play since we rediscovered this long forgotten about truck. And since Little Tikes made this toy vehicle, I know it will last for many more years to come. Read on to find out more.
~~~The Toy~~~
Recommended for children ages 3 to 10 years, this Little Tikes Big Semi Truck is made of that durable hard plastic material that Little Tikes is famous for. Measuring 23 inches long, 10 inches high, and 7.25 inches wide, this tough semi truck features side and back doors that open and close for loading and unloading cargo. It’s made of durable, no-rust construction for indoor/outdoor play year after year. The cab is royal blue in color and has both front and side window cut-outs present. Inside the cab are realistic looking black interior seats although no steering wheel can be located. This 3 axled version isn't quite like an original 18 wheeler, though, as only 6 black white walled tires with red hub cabs come included. The long trailer is gray in color with two removable doors in back and one sliding door on the side. Inside, young truck drivers can haul and store all sorts of cargo, including toys and smaller vehicles. For more realistic play, the cab actually turns wide to the left and right much like a real big rig, and the trailer may be dropped and then re-hitched when desired. Overall, this Little Tikes Big Semi Truck is a very attractive model that looks alot like many of the big rigs found on the road today. Sorry, no CB radio is included though.

~~~Our Experience~~~
When Tristan first discovered this hand-me-down Little Tikes Big Semi Truck previously owned by his older brother, he actually thought it was a riding toy because of it's larger size. So I'd often find him actually straddling the trailer as he zoomed across the floor riding his "new" toy! But now that he is becoming interested in those small classic Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars that most young boys (and even some girls) become fascinated with at one time or another, he's actually using this big rig to haul them around with instead of riding it himself anymore. Every time we are out running errands in the car and he sees a real 18 wheeler driving down the road, he gets all excited and exclaims "Biiiiigg Truck!". So now he has his very own version of a big truck to keep him happy and to spark imaginative play. I'm just glad I held onto this Little Tikes Big Semi Truck for all of these years and didn't sell it in a yard sale as this durable truck now has the opportunity to be roughly played with all over again.

Look for the Little Tikes Big Semi Truck in limited quantities where ever Little Tikes toys are sold and surprise your young truck driver with this great gift this upcoming holiday season. This big rig is durably constructed with colorful materials and looks much like a "real-life" 18 wheeler, especially the cab's ergonomic design. And as an added bonus, in today's age where battery operated toys are the most popular and can be found every where you look, the only sound this toy truck makes is made from it's wheels zooming across the floor (and perhaps a few vocal Vrooms! produced by your little one). So to encourage youngsters to use their imagination without the help of battery powered lights and sounds, this Little Tikes Big Semi Truck is one toy vehicle worth checking out if you can find it.
