Miss Maggie loves to swing. She thinks she is "flying." Trips to the park became inconvenient and daunting so we talked "Nana" into purchasing Miss Maggie her first swing. Little Tikes High Back Toddler Swing .
It's a Swing!
Obviously by the picture you can see that it is made of very sturdy plastic (Little Tike's trademark- Durable plastic) that is weather resistant. The swing itself is 20.50" in Length x 15.75" in Depth x 13.75" in Height. It is a lovely teal blue color with yellow, weather resistant ropes.
Features:
The Little Tikes High Back Toddler Swing has just that, a very high back to support little tikes. It has high sides and a high front to keep little ones protected from falling out, or bobbing from side to side.
It includes all the hardware and weather resistant ropes for assembly. It is incredibly easy to assemble and hang, even for this assembly impaired momma. The Little Tikes High Back Toddler Swing can be used on an existing swing set or as we have done at Nana's, secured it from a very strong limb under a large, shaded, oak tree.
The swing itself has large leg openings, but not so large you have to worry about your child slipping through one! The seat is large and wide but is small enough to accommodate smaller children. It is a very comfortable fit for children within the age recommendation.
Safety First!!
This was one of my main concerns. My daughter is quite wild (while swinging or flying as she would say) and I wanted to make sure she would be perfectly safe in this swing. The durable construction is reassuring, but the safety belt that is included to restrain your tot is an added safety feature. No swing for toddlers should be without one. The belt is adjustable to fit your tot through growing spurts and clicks easily, so there is no waiting to get your little flier in the air and flying!
The belt restraint is made of a sturdy rayon, like those safety belts on life jackets, so there is no need to worry unraveling or damage from repeated use.
Age Recommendations:
Little Tikes recommends this swing be used for ages 9 months to 36 months. This is an excellent purchase because your child will not outgrow it for some time. Weight limits are not listed, although we have searched for some type of requirement.
Miss Magg's Feelings:
She is awake at 6:30am every morning ready to go outside and SWING. She will sit in this swing FOREVER. Although she received a large swing set that I thought was more age appropriate, she loves this swing and couldn't care less about the "big girl's swing." We use it at least 3 hours every day.
Mom's Thought's:
The Little Tikes name in itself was enough to sell me on this product. I know their name means quality and they stand behind each product they sell. I associate their name with safety and durable products.
When in use, I do not worry about her falling out because of the high back and sides, the safety belt, and the over all construction of this swing.
It has been in Nana's yard for the past year, through thunderstorms and ice storms, extreme heat and cold, it has kept its color, shape, and solid construction. It has not weathered at all, and will be a perfect "hand-me-down" when she eventually out grows this swing.
Closing Thoughts:
I recommend this swing to anyone with a child that is interested in purchasing a "first" swing for their child. It has withstood many Flying Sessions and the weather and still looks great and my child enjoys it immensely. Priced at 16.99 (depending on where you purchase this product) it is a steal.
We are delighted that we found such a great outdoor product at such a great price. the real test of a child's outside play equipment is use: It has been used repeatedly and is still going strong. We absolutely love this SWING!!
