| just2innc's Full Review: Little Tikes Roadster Toddler Bed |
We bought the toddler bed version of this bed, the blue one without the toy box storage or the shelves. My 20 month old son saw it in a Toys R' Us ad and asked for it practically every day for like the next five months. We had already decided to buy it for him for his second birthday, but ended up getting it about a month early.
We really like the fact that it is low to the ground so when (or if) he fell out of bed he wouldn't have far to fall. My husband liked that it was easy to put together. We bought a piece of plywood to support the mattress and set it up in less than an hour. I liked the fact that we didn't have to buy another mattress, it fits the same mattress from his crib.
There are some down sides to this bed, it doesn't have any side rails and it would probably be hard to put some on the bed, it is also a little bit larger than the other toddler beds that we looked at. If you are limited on space then this bed may not be the best for you due to the size. The only other drawback was the price, we found it on sale at Toys R' Us and paid $120.00 for it, but when we looked we found it ranges in price from $120-$200.
Overall, I would recommend this bed to anyone looking for an adorable bed for their precious little boy. One hint, check around at some resale or consignment shops; this is a pretty popular item and you may be able to find it at one of these shops for much cheaper.
