My son got this bed as a hand me down shortly after his second birthday, he loved it......to play on, sleeping was another matter. Almost two years later when he finally starting to sleep in it through the night it became clear that it was time for a new bed, a bigger bed. His feet were hanging off the end (at 4 he's just now about 40 inches)and his head was more often then not cramped up in the end. I also can't count how many nights I heard his head hit the sides *thunk* The sides are sloped up towards the head of the bed so during all his wiggling he'd easily get to the side.

I did however come up with an idea to make it last just a little longer.......as a toy. I removed the mattress and the board (I don't know if all of them come with a board under a the mattress or not!) and covered the board with a light layer of padding, then let him pick out some fabric to cover it, it's now a play area for his cars! He loves it!

So as a bed or a toy, it is a wonderful thing!
