I’m loving it and want to share it! I am not a “techie” (or is that techy?) kind of person, but I do use a computer on a regular basis for work and at home (especially now that Facebook has introduced itself to me). Therefore, I pretty much panicked when my keyboard started doing all kinds of strange things by itself and opposite things when I was actually using it. Dilemma time was choosing a piece of hardware accessories when I don’t know a thing about them.
I found myself at my local Office Max store because it’s the closest store. Sometimes I find good products there but most times they are over priced items that are on the “no longer produced” list. But, I needed the keyboard and the store was closest to my home. I looked at many of the products they offered and had a really hard time deciding. I really had wanted a cordless but was amazed at the number that they carried and how each one was a little different with different features that I had no clue if I would or wouldn’t use.
Some of the keyboards were sitting out of their boxes and I began by trying the keyboard. Yes, they did all have the letters in the same order, but there were many other differences. Some were flat, some were wavy, and some were in sections. Some had programmable F-Keys, Easy Access to Windows, adjustable keyboard heights, and different battery lives. What to choose? What to choose? What to choose?
I chose the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave. Not only is it a cordless keyboard but it also comes with a cordless laser mouse.
Features are:
Cushioned palm rest for extra support and comfort (it really is great and I feel the difference).
Curved keypad with consistently sized keys (I’m loving this the most)
Adjustable Keyboard Height (this helps with the kind of computer desk I have).
Extended battery life and battery status indicators (I’ve had this for about 9 months and it’s still going strong).
Now the features for those who actually know what they’re buying:
Easy Access to Windows Vista that lets you instantly launch key Windows Vista features including Flip 3D, Zoom, Photo Gallery and Gadgets.
Instant Media Gratification with convenient one-touch controls for volume and media playback are easily within reach. There’s also a dedicated launch button for Media Center.
Programmable F-Keys. Distinctive F-keys instantly open applications, games, folders or web pages.
Extended battery life can last up to 15 months for the keyboard and up to 6 months for the mouse. The convenient LED battery indicators flash when batteries need changing.
The included laser mouse gives great precision and control. Gently contoured sides and soft rubber grips deliver good support and comfort. (I love using this mouse. However, the battery did not last very long and I’m presently using the extra plug-in I keep for emergencies because I’ve lost battery power on the mouse twice already). The mouse has a tilt wheel with Flip 3D; a page back and forward; battery status indication and fits my smallish hand nicely and comfortably.
The only complaint that I’ve had is the battery length on the mouse and that could happen to any set like this that you buy. The Keyboard is excellent in every way and I’d buy another one in a heartbeat. The cost for the set of cordless keyboard and mouse was $79.99 but shop around because I’ve seen them for less since my purchase.
