Pros:Long battery life, durable, cheap, on/off switch
The Bottom Line: This is a very basic mouse that is durable and exceeds my expectations of an inexpenseive mouse.
A year ago my wireless laptop mouse broke, so I had to buy a new one. I was on maternity leave on the time, so without the extra income, I just sought out one of the more inexpensive wireless mice I could find. I bought the Logitech V220 wireless optical notebook mouse for around $20.

The Logitech V220 is a very basic mouse with two buttons and a click scroll wheel. You also will find a power/battery indicator light below the buttons. When batteries are inserted or when the mouse is turned on, the light will light up green for a few seconds. If you have a low battery, the light will flash red. (More on battery life below.)
If you flip over the mouse to look at the bottom, you will see an on/off switch to help preserve battery life, a reset button, and a button to pop open the battery compartment. The battery compartment, however, is accessed from the top of the mouse.
Also on the bottom of the mouse is a space to slide in the USB receiver. This is nice for traveling. I can't get my laptop into my bag without having to take out the USB receiver. Having it tucked neatly into the bottom of the mouse means the receiver won't get lost somewhere in my bag. When the USB is plugged into its port, the mouse and the cursor sync up quickly. The signal between the receiver and the mouse is still strong at three feet away.
The Logitech V220 has a nice ergonomic feel and soft rubber on the sides where the thumb lays. I have long fingers, but this mouse feels very nice in my hand and has always been comfortable.
The mouse takes only one AA battery. I use my computer about 6 hours per day and I normally get about 3-4 months out of a store brand battery. I also do not shut off the mouse when it is not in use. Using one battery every few months makes this a very economical wireless mouse to operate.
Since my son began walking a couple months ago the mouse has been dropped on the floor countless times and even chewed. It has been able to withstand all the abuse without a problem. Many of the times when it was dropped the battery lid came off, but it has always clicked right back into place. A couple times I have had to hit the reset button to get it working again, but other than that the mouse has been in fine working condition in spite of all the drops. (And I do now remember to move the mouse out of his reach!)
While this is a basic mouse, the Logitech V220 wireless optical notebook mouse has done well at meeting my needs. It is durable, comfortable, economical, and well worth the inexpensive price.
