willow1584's Full Review: Logitech G15 (920-000379) Keyboard
My husband and I have been online gamers for many years now, him longer than me, and when he found this keyboard and got us each one, we were quite pleased.
What makes this keyboard unique is a few features standard keyboards lack. On the left-hand side, there is a section called the "G" keys (which is where the G15 in the name comes from). G1 through G15 allow you to preset actions, commands, etc. in games. However, there are technically more than 15 G keys. There are actually 45. At the top of the G keys, there is an M1, M2, M3, and a larger key, MR. M1, M2, and M3 are all different sets of G keys, offering you a total of 45. The MR key is what sets the G keys. In your game, simply press the MR key. The keyboard will then walk you through on how to make G key your own. ( you just press the desired G key, type in your command, then press MR). And just how does it walk you through, and where? On the second unique feature of this wonderful keyboard, the LCD screen!
The Logitech G15 keyboard has a small LCD screen that flips up and down and has a button that allows you to scroll through different displays. There is a clock (actual clock), a numerical time display, and date with day of the week (since hard-core gamers can lose track of time, hehe) on the standard display. You can also have it show your computer's performance levels, and there are some games that are compatible with this keyboard so that some small aspects of the game can be displayed on the LCD screen.
Another feature, not so unique these days, but still cool is the back-light feature. The keys light up blue, and there are 3 settings; off, bright and brighter.
The Logitech G15 keyboard also has a section on the top center with general controls for music. Play/Pause, Stop, Forward, and Rewind, as well as a scrolling volume control. There is also a mute button off to the right. Now, on my husband's keyboard, it works fine, but on mine, it never has worked. He tried several different things, but it won't work in any music program, or during gaming. However, it is cool to have those controls, especially volume, on your keyboard. There is also two USB ports on the top. And oh yeah, it is NOT wireless, in case anyone is wondering.
All in all, I think it is a nifty keyboard for a gamer. We paid a little over $100 for each about a year ago, and bought them from Newegg.com.
