| morfeuse's Full Review: Logitech Z-560 4 Speakers |
For Christimas I got a set of the Klipsch promedia 4.1. As much as I loved these speakers something always got to me. I'd always have to keep one of the satelite speakers unplugged. Whenever it was plugged in there was static coming out of not only one speaker but all of them. 3 sets of speakers later(All of them Klipsch Promedia 4.1 and All had that static problem) I realized that the Klipsch and I weren't ment to be, and with this I went searching for another set of speakers that could compare to the Klipsch's loud bass. After almost giving up all hope I was reading a PCGAMER magazine and they had a review of the new Logitech Z-560. the first thing I saw was that it also was a 400 watt system. Then, the next thing I saw was the price. 100 bucks cheaper then the Klipsch. I thought they couldn't be that good since they were cheaper but I went to check them out anyway just in case. I went to Best Buy to check them out and I was blown away. There are a couple of different features that make these speakers alittle better than the klipsch. First the Logitech Z-560 sports an 8 inch 200 watt subwoofer. I thought that since it's only one subwoofer than there would be less bass than the Klipsch. Not the case at all in fact the logitech speakers actually give off more bass and more watts than the klipsch(The Klipsch Promedia 4.1 sports dual side firing 6.5 inch subwoofers which comes together with a total of 160 watts). another nice feature about the logitech speakers is the control station. This controls everything from main volume to subwoofer volume it even has a feature called M3D which is supposed to create a more realistic environment. Althought a handy feature that the klipsch has that the logitech doesn't is the line in outlet. This allows you to plug in another source of sound while still having your speakers hooked up to your computer. Now onto the satelites. The Logitech Z-560 satelites speakers have an interesting set up although they do not have seporate tweeters like the klipsch they can still hit high notes really well. Symbols, guitar riffs, even lyrics there's an added realism to the sound. In the center of the speaker itself there's a metal dome that gives the Logitech speakers an interesting look. The mesh screens for the speakers are also removable. I've had these speakers for about a month that and I have not a single complaint about them. They perform well and I have never heard them loose any sound quality no matter what I play or how high I play it. They always impress whoever comes over to listen to them(Even my uncle who is a hardcore home theater system person who thinks no computer speakers could even come close to comparing to home theater systems) There are only a couple of true Cons. One, the bass will pas right throw the walls of the house. Two, these speakers have caused pictures to fall off the walls. If you can deal with those side affects these speakers will treat you well.
