| Upinya's Full Review: Logitech Z-560 4 Speakers |
Logitech isn't really know for making computer speakers, but Im glad that they decided to try it. Logitech is most commonly known for their keyboards, joysticks, and their mice. I found these speakers for around $140 online, which is a very good price for a 4.1 system. It also comes with a mind blowing total of 400 watts of power. This is the most wattage for any 4.1 sound system available to the PC.
The subwoofer is kind of bulky, and there is a huge heat sink on the back of the sub which can make it difficult to place. But overall the subwoofer is truly amazing for the price you are paying for the system. The sub is really fast and has a very full sound. Not to mention each satellite comes with real binding posts, a first for computer speakers. It may seem odd that Logitech decided to just go with one driver and no tweeter. At first you would think that it is going to sound bad or not have a very wide range of sound, but the satellites sound very nice and have wonderful clarity.
The Z-560s come with a control stand that lets you control the bass levels, fade levels, and it allows you to use their new technology called M3D. Which basically takes some of the highs and routes them to the rear speakers, with a bit of added delay. The effect is best heard with recordings that feature well-defined, sparse sections with a bit of reverb.
I would recommend these speakers to people who want to buy something that is affordable and sounds good. This system provides a lot of power with clarity. The design of the speaker is also a plus; they are original and will get a lot of attention.
Of course I'll finish it off with some of the specs of these great speakers.
