It's a mouse BIG DEAL.
Well,yes it is.
The Mx510 Logitech optical mouse is a state of the art input device the makes internet surfing and internet game playing MUCH BETTER.
First off,it is handed.
It's a right hand mouse.
The body of it is formed so it naturally fits perfectly without strain in a right hand.
Furthermore,it has two buttons by the thumb that can be programmed to be whatever you want them to be.
Stock they are defaulted to forward and back page flippers.
No more arrowing to the top of the page.
And the software package seems to speed up the back page function of my particular computer.
I mean like blam!It's there.
It has the standard two finger buttons on front and a center spin wheel but it also has a small button in front of the wheel and one in back of the wheel.
Also the wheel itself pushes down to form another button!
That's a total of eight buttons!
So how does it work?
Very smoothly and quickly.
The default setup of the buttons is common sense like and their placement means you don't have to contort your hand to reach them.
The Mx510 is a corded mouse.
That means no batteries,super quick response and excellent reliability.
Especially from Logitech.
But I still bought the $8.50 two year replacement warranty,just in case.
I play Unreal Tournament 2003 on the internet almost every night for at least two hours at a time.
This mouse has improved my score and greatly decreased any discomfort to my hand.***see update below***
Add to this that the computer software helps speed up some of the functions of my computer and all I can say is excellent job Logitech.
If you are on a computer for more than ten minutes a day-YOU NEED TO BUY THIS MOUSE.
Update-Whatever you do-DO NOT TRY TO PAGE BACK WITH THE BACK BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MOUSE WHILE YOU ARE WRITING AN EMAIL.
I did this three daggone times while writing an email on night.
I had to write that email four times!
It erases that email your working on.
Secondly-I had some severe cramping in my right hand for about three weeks that I think was my hand getting accustomed to the groove in the left side of this mouse.
I moved my whole hand-palm and all onto a supported surface and the soreness went away.
I still love this mouse!
