I actually didn't expect as much enjoyment from this mouse when it first arrived with my new Dell desktop. Personally, I think it's funny that I can get such a distinct kick from something as simple as a mouse, but this mouse surprised me enough that I thought I should share it with you.
There are three main reasons I love this mouse.
1) I adore the way this mouse feels under my palm. It has a lovely contour that allows my wrist a freedom of movement that was hampered by less expensive, more straight-edged mice. However, is carpel-tunnel is what you're most worried about, I'd advise going for a trackball.
2) I am also quite fond of the four-button arrangement. While all three top buttons are quite easy to access, the hidden fourth one by your thumb is a snap to press. You can map any of the buttons using the simple control panel. I have my thumb button bring up Internet Explorer, while the middle-button brings up my e-mail.
3) Even though these past few items were fantastic, I mostly fell in love with the scrolling ability of the wheel. I can't say how much I use it, since I no longer have to move my hand at all to scroll down a page. It has become completely invaluable to me, and everyone I've let use it has commented how they would love to have such a wheel. The wheel also has a wonderful texture to it that allows one to feel the bumps as they scroll, so it's almost as if you are turning pages.
Combine all of that with a grip-pad on the side that actually works, and you have one remarkable mouse. However, this mouse would probably only benefit those people, like myself, who can spend hours staring at a computer screen. For a mouse, $50 isn't something to sneeze at. So take some time one day while you're surfing and see if having this special little gadget would improve the quality of your Web. It has mine.
