willamette17's Full Review: Logitech QUICKCAM PRO 9000 Web Cam
I bought this camera - my first webcam - in Nov. 07. It performed as advertised, in fact, it prompted (forced) me to update my six-year-old computer to take advantage of its capabilities. Oh well, $600 later, my only complaint is the $20 rebate offer, which would have brought the price down to $61.
My impression of shopping for computer components online these days is that you aren't going to save much by comparison shopping with the price comparo sites. You can only catch a closeout deal or maybe a rebate here or there, but take the rebate offers with a big grain of salt.
In the case of Logitech's rebate offer for this, I assembled the order printout and UPC code from the box, and mailed them in. After waiting the requisite 8 - 10 weeks, I received an email saying that they couldn't honor my request because the included tag was not a UPC code. It was the only bar code on the package, and the possibility of challenging the decision is nil with no evidence, so, goodbye $20.
Just a word of caution: buying electronic goods from even reputable online distributors can be risky, especially for lower-cost items where return shipping charges are prohibitive.
