Pros: Long cord, sturdy base, great quality daytime pictures and videos, very clear sound.
Cons: Monitor clamp is hard to adjust, nighttime pictures and videos look horrible.
The Bottom Line: If you want very good quality pictures and videos, buy this webcam. The $40 cams just don't cut it.

| jimbarbasol's Full Review: Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 Web Cam |
The Logitech Pro 3000 camera is a very good webcam. I bought it in March of 2001 for $179 CDN and it still is going strong. It's very easy to use, especially with Windows XP. You don't even need the packaged Quickcam software with it if you want to just use it with Yahoo or MSN Messenger. Just plug it in, adjust MSN and Yahoo's video and audio settings, and you're good to go. But, I use it with the Quickcam software and with Yahoo and MSN Messenger. I like being able to communicate with my sister overseas with audio and video. The best part, of course, is that it's free! No long distance charges! The picture and video quality is great during the daytime. At nighttime, not so good. But, then again, I don't have the most well-lit house, anyway. For those times when my sister isn't online, I email her videos. The software will automatically (you can shut this off, too) optimize the videos for easier sending, which is good if someone's on dial-up. The mic is great, too. My dad had problems with his old cheapie mic, so I let him plug in my Pro 3000 to see if the mic was the problem, and not his speakers. Sure enough, clear as a bell. The mic is a feature that is often overlooked, but Logitech mics are VERY good, as well. I highly recommend the Logitech Pro 3000 webcam.
