Pros:Easy to set up and operate.
Cons:Battery is optional, not standard. Must be ordered in accessory package with remote control.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in using a standalone unit for listening to internet streams.
The Squeezebox Radio is a great unit. The first thing you notice when you unbox it is the weight. It has the feel of an upscale quality item as you lift it out of it's box. It weighs just about three times as much as you would expect it to weigh. It has the weight and heft of an old bakelite telephone from 40 years ago. That's actually a good thing because if it was as light as most comparable types of equipment it would slide around as you press the pushbuttons. The sound quality is usually exceptional for such a small unit. And it's more or less easy to operate and intuitive.

The manual says you can direct enter url's from streams that aren't pre-loaded in their menu. So far the unit has rejected those URL's that I have entered and given error reports instead. Not sure of the reason yet. But those same URL's work fine when use them on my computer to listen to streams. Will have to research more to find the answer. For an example, I listen to the following VHF/UHF scanner feed/stream on my computer, but the Squeezebox Radio has of yet not accepted it:
The Squeezebox features similar scanner feeds in it's menu and plays them fine. They're usually listed at the end of the menu for particular cities if they're available.
