Surprisingly nice, The table radio returns as a "magic radio."

Pros:Nice sound, elegant design, solid construction, unobtrusive, very cool product.

Cons:No tone controls, no line-out, not enough pre-sets, optional battery is proprietary and very expensive

The Bottom Line: Neat and solid product, but overpriced.

This unit is basically a computer limited to one app:  Internet radio.   It is solid and heavy.  It is elegant and barely noticeable in a room.  Having a little table radio unobtrusively tuned to an FM station in Rio or Berlin or Moscow or even Antarctica is incredibly cool. The speaker (this is a monophonic radio) is high-quality and produces a pleasant sound.  It has been surprisingly pleasant to have it at home.

Logitech clearly wanted this unit to be simple and they succeeded, but the simplicity is carried to an extreme:  There are no treble or bass controls.  There is no brightness control for the display. There are only six preset buttons -- Logitech really needs to upgrade the firmware to give each preset button 3 or four stations.  Six preset stations aren't much of a choice when there are 15,000 online to choose from.  There is a line-in for an MP3 player but no line-out or external speaker outputs.

The optional battery pack is unnecessarily proprietary and ridiculously expensive.  We did without, but without a battery pack you have to reboot the unit each time you move it.  The battery pack generally comes bundled with a remote control but the remote control is unnecessary and clashes with the whole simplicity idea.

Setup is easy albeit a bit clumsy and time-consuming since you are dealing with pushbuttons and knobs rather than a mouse.  Also, it is not possible to set up the radio without registering it with Logitech, which requires an email account (which is NOT verified -- anything with _____@___.com appears to be ok).

In general this is a nice unit, but considering what it does it is still a little overpriced.  I imagine that competitive products will drive the price down.
