Pros:Affordable, ergonmic, comfortable, durable.
Cons:No automatic shutoff.
The Bottom Line: If in the market for a wireless USB nouse, this is a solid purchase due to the ease of use and design.
I bought the Logitech M305 mouse in purple for my wife on her birthday. She recently started taking a couple of classes and we purchased a laptop. The laptop mouse and keyboard are not the most intuitive to use, so I bought her a Logitech wireless keyboard and this particular wireless mouse (they were sold separately). I got this one in purple with the design on it since she loves purple and designs. Best Buy had a sale on each of them, so I ordered them online and picked them up in the store.

We began using the mouse before the keyboard, and we are both impressed by not only the ease of use, but the ergonomics of it. It comes with a very small USB receiver (less than a half inch long) that transmits the frequencies to the mouse, but it is not a Logitech universal receiver. The one that came with the keyboard however is. This means that only one USB receiver controls bot the keyboard and mouse. They did have to be synched together, that was a simple process via the Logitech drivers. There was no problem of losing the other receiver though as there is a spot to store it in the battery compartment in the mouse. The mouse came with the required AA battery which is supposed to last for several months. It is very easy to remove the battery compartment from the bottom of the mouse as there is a slide button that opens it. To save battery life, there is a switch on the bottom to turn off the mouse. I almost always forget to do that, and there is no automatic shutoff. That is the only negative thing I have found about this mouse, and it's a very minor negative.
The design of the mouse is very ergonomic and not utilitarian like some mice. The left and right click buttons are both indented and at a downward slope, so most fingers fit on them very comfortably. The scroll wheel has ridges and protrudes only enough for it to be used and not get in the way of the left and right click buttons. The sides of the mouse are also curved, indented, and covered with a soft rubber material. The thumb and pinky that may rest on either side of the mouse will remain comfortable because of this design.
So the ergonomics of this mouse are nice, but does it function like regular corded mouse? The answer is yes, and it works better that most mice. I am not a gamer and this is definitely not a mouse for gaming, but for everyday use like writing reviews on Epinions, writing essays for school, and updating Facebook, it is very efficient. It works very well on a smooth surface without a mouse pad as it just glides over the surface. The mouse is usually about six inches away from the USB receiver and there is no delay time when using it. The clicks are immediate as is the movement of the cursor on the monitor.
The mouse is also very portable. If travelling with a laptop, it does not not take much space, and the USB receiver is so small that it can be left in the laptop's USB port without fear of it being snapped in half (happened to a previous USB receiver I had).
For only $15, the mouse was definitely a great purchase. While I definitely do not consider it disposable, if it were to malfunction or if I were to break it, that is not a lot to lose. It was a great price for a product that is sturdy, ergonomic, and works better than most comparable products.
