I bought these shortly after buying my new Dell Inspiron laptop, as the laptop speakers just didn't cut it. I am very happy with my decision. The sound quality is great and is sufficiently loud for my uses, which include gaming and music. I'm a bit limited on speaker placement though, especially the rear speakers, since the wires for the speakers are just a tad short for my liking. Subwoofer is smaller than others, but it hits hard. Headphone pass-through is a convenient feature, but be sure to turn the system off before plugging or unplugging headphones. Matrix mode works well too. There's also a splitter included to easily connect red/white RCA "phono" audio cables from TV's, stereos, and what not. The subwoofer seems like it's not quite as loud as it was when I bought the system eight months ago, but I may have just grown used to it, or it may be just something to be expected of such a system.
