| mowinman's Full Review: Logitech Z-340 2 Speakers |
I would like to start out saying that the Logitech Z-340 speakers are a very good deal for their performance. It comes with two satellites (6.5 watts each) and a sub (20 watts). Both drivers perform very nicely. As some people have said, the satellites could be a little more ‘crisper’ but can be fix with an EQ. The sub, due to its dual chamber cabinet, produces a much more bass than you would expect from a 20 watt 8” sub. In fact, I never turn it up more than about half way. And I don’t think many people turn it up all the way. That would be too much bass, and overwhelming for the satellites.
Again, the system sounds great for $50.00 dollars. As I walk from room to room, I often find myself comparing it to my Bose Acoustimass 3 series. (Also reviewed by Mowinman) And though, there is no comparison, with the Bose, if you were just to listen to the Logitechs on their own, you will be absolutely amazed.
I don’t use this system for my computer, but I have it connected to one of the sets of speaker outputs on my JVC stereo. I use it by my bedside, and it is the perfect system for that use.
There is a volume control for the speakers, along with a volume control for the sub, which is greatly appreciated. The ‘ON’ light is blue, and very bright at night.
All in all, these speakers were an excellent price for very good performance. I would certainly recommend these to someone who wishes to have exceptional computer speakers, or to someone who just wants to hook them up to an MP3 player, or CD player.
