For less than $50 dollars, these set of speakers produce a great amount of sound. However, if sound was all that speakers needed, a $20 pair of speakers could probably give you that, but quality shines through on this product just as well.
I have bought five different sets of speakers that cost less than $100 each in the last half a year to test them out. Although the more expensive (at $89) Altec Lansing speakers sound great, they are not much compared to these Logitech Z 540.
Many stores, such as Best Buy and Circuit City, may sell these speakers for $70 to $80 dollars, but other stores like Fry's and smaller computer stores sell these for as low as $39.99. Look around a bit before you buy, as always. But these speakers are worth much more than $40, and I would have bought them even if they cost $70 or more.
Enjoy great sound for a good price!
