william_zamora's Full Review: Logitech Z-5500 5 Speakers
The quality of the satellite speakers were pretty darn good. The cones are made of polyeruthane with rubber surrounding it. The stands has a couple of holes in the front so you could screw them in if you want to wall-mount these speakers. If you do decide on wall-mounting them, the stands can actually rotate to the back of the speaker and mount directly on the wall. From what I read, if you decide on getting speaker stands instead, make sure to NOT remove the stands, because you will not get them back on without opening the speakers (which will void your warranty). The control center is a beautful breakout box. However, when you actually touch it, it feels very plasticy and light. The size of this unit is a little bit bigger than the satellite speaker units. The volume knob looks like it's stainless steel, but it's not. It is plastic coated with a metal-like finish. However, the subwoofer is of solid quality with fins flaring out to cool the unit. It does get warm but not dangerously hot (even when cranked to the max for a long duration) like I've heard from other reviews.
