You must be lost! You have left a comment about your Heathrow review on my WOODSTOCK review. I would never stoop so low as to advertise my review on another persons review! Would you??

Maybe if Heathrow learned a little bit from Gatwick, then the world would be a better place! Next time, I'll try Gatwick (if the airfrare is good).

When... (Reply to this comment)

I said London, I meant the area (and the outside suburbs). I never knew that Ryanair was based in Stansted. I'll add that. A whole new airport? Hopefully it will be better organized than Heathrow!

Stanstead and Luton is home to Ryan Airways (Reply to this comment)
by jbfox
Ryan airways, like EasyJet flies out of Luton, which is a joy of an airport to get in / out of and parking is convenient if you need to leave your car there. SEe recent epinions for a review of Ryan. Yes, they are no frills / no connections, but cheap and easy. By the way, Heathrow is not actually IN the city of london, it is a ways out but there are excellent train and bus connections. It is only an hour from Oxford, whereas Gatwick takes 3 hours and you have to go on the DREADED M25 highway/motorway! Many of my North American friends visiting the UK are starting to fly into Manchester, which is less congested, then they catch the train south! Also a consideration is Birmingham, though today I heard that the middle of the country - the Midlands is in an uproar as they are thinking of starting a WHOLE new airport near Rugby and closing Birmingham.. watch this space.

Mark. Wow! I never knew that Heathrow has it's own subway station. That sounds neat, but I based my review, on connecting. I know that a lot of people hate connections, and what I was trying to do, was explain how hard it was to connect. Do you know what I mean? I am sure there would have been a lot of pros, if London was my final destination, but since it is a major connection center, I am trying to explain how bad of an airport this is, to connect through.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Yeah...it's big and busy, but I don't think Heathrow is a truly bad airport. At least they have a subway stop right at the airport so you can easily get into the heart of the city!
Best,

think all connections at London, Paris, and Frankfurt are like Heathrow, since they are very large gateways, and connection centers. However, Amsterdam was okay.
Thanks for the compliment!

Great Review. Reading things like this makes me thankful that I do all my business travel in the US. I would now gladly brave Detroit and the Northwest Mega-Hub any day, then end up in Heathrow.
