mentioned the designs on the pound coins - each of the country's in the UK (Wales, England, Scotland, N Ire have their own special design, and then theres the "united" one on top. We also have one off's for special occasions (not that I can think of any, off the top of my head).
Nice review - liked the info on why we don't have public litter bins - you are quite correct!! although they are creaping back under the ceasefire, so I suspect bombs were more impotant than homeless people nabbing food!!

.....this is meant to be about Heathrow airport. OK - so it's mentioned, but it's hardly the focus of your review. It doesn't really tell me anything about the airport. Undera different category, it would certainly be "VH" - or am I missing something here? Andrew

Well, as far as I could see, there were also not any garbage cans in the Underground or on street corners. No hard feelings on the rating.

places in England? OK, so there are aren't any
in the airport but as you say it's because of
bomb threats; there are plenty elsewhere...

These are going to be fun reviews to read!
I took my 16 year old daughter with me to London earlier in the year and we had such a great time!
I don't like the airport because it is rather confusing and VERY spread out ~ although it does get one into the walking mode which you spend so much time doing in England! Can we say get some ELEVATORS???

I have been in and out of there four times. Not enough to know everything but enough to know it's ok. Certainly not great.
