Pros: gorgeous colors
Cons: smell, lasting capabilities
Because I like Lancome products, its not a surprise I like several of LOreals products. Sine they are owned by the same company Ive found that many times they both have similar shades and similar products. I saw the display for Glam Shine lip-gloss the minute I walked into the store. There it was, just waiting for me to find a shade and throw it into the basket. I was lucky that day because the display picture had a girl that wasnt much darker than me and she was wearing See Shells; a gorgeous sparkling gold color.
I believe that See Shells was a color that had limited availability. It is the same color as Seductress and went along with their summer promotions. At the counter I chose really carefully because I wasnt too into the pinks and the gold seemed to suit my skin color well.
First let me say that the applicator is flimsy and seems that at any moment it will break off. Its awkwardly shaped, almost like it is crooked, which LOreal thinks will make it easier to apply this stuff.
They were wrong and frankly for me a regular applicator would have sufficed.
Regardless, I managed to get a good amount on my lips and the color immediately changed them into shimmery smackers without the grittiness of other sparkly glosses. The gloss went evenly over my lips because there were no particles that clung to my lips or to the applicator. Its not frosty or glittery, theres simply a nice smooth shimmer that made this particular product work for me.
LOreal Shine Gloss has a particular smell that I dont really care for. It smells like regular lipstick, that metallic/ Vaseline smell which is one of the reasons why I dont wear a lot of lipstick. Still, I could get over the smell issue because its not a powerful smell but its not a subtle sweet smell like Lancomes Juicy Tubes.
I was surprised and a little disappointed at how long this gloss lasted on my lips. Id say it wasnt even a few hours before it was completely worn off and even then it didnt leave any type of gunk on my lips.
The cost of this gloss is $6.99 and I recommend buying a few of the limited promotional colors, especially if there is one you like a lot.
Overall I would purchase this gloss again because I love the fact that it has a shimmer without being gritty. On the other hand its smell and the fact that it wears off pretty easily make it a product that needs a few adjustments.
