Pros: sticks on, and stays on.
Cons: Sticky, and has way to many sparkles
Let me start off by saying I hate lipsticks. I just hate the cakey feeling...nothing more to say...So naturally I go for the glossy/shiny affect, not paying much attention to lip colors. I just don't like changeing to color of my lips!
Then, I got a sample of Loreal's Glam Shine (in Diva) in Seventeen Magizine. I looked at the picture of the girl who was wearing the same color on the add and thought - eukk! Too many sparkles! The color was a really deep redish-plumish that I didn't exactly think would look good on me (I didn't like the color either), so I left it alone. A few days later, I flipped back to the add and decided to try the sample, just to see what it looked like on me (after all, I've seen this stuff sold for $7.99...It had to be good, right?). I put very little on, becuase I didn't want the same look as the model on the add. To my suprise, It look, well, good!
Finally, Loreal cosmetics were on sale at Ulta! It was 2 for $5.99...which, I thought was a good price. I picked up Glam Shine and Color Juice! I wasn't sure which shad I should go for, since there were so many. I went with Prima Donna, since that was closest to my lip color. I didn't want to take a chance with some of the other shades. It came in the smallest bottle! But I bought it anyway and went straight home to try it!
Now, I wasn't expecting too much, since I was taking a risk with the whole spakles thing. First I put just a little on...which looked good. Then I tried a whole sweap of the wand. It was WAY to sparkly for me! It looked over done, and too fancy. I decided to keep it!
I don't have much experince with Loreal, but this is what I can figure out by there website (www.lorealparis.com) and thier adds:
They want your money! I like Glam Shine, but its NOT worth $7.99 (as what most stores are selling it as). They have sales every other week to make you feel like your saving money! I think they are just snobs! The way they promote anything is suductive! Don't be fooled by their adds!
Their add reads:
Never before seen:
your lips with
Unique micro-crystal tecnology amplifies light refelctions for the ultimate shine.
Moisture-drenched formula, non-sticky texture.
Glamorous lips in one stroke: redefined, re-plmped
BECUASE YOUR WORTH IT.
Well trust me hunny, you can get a better lip gloss for half the price!
However, There are many choices to choose from!
Diva- a deep red-moroon
Goddess- a paler pinkish color
Sarlet- a brighter pinkish color
Muse- an orangish goldish color
Prima Donna- more of a goldish color
Seductress- a more orangish Prima Donna
Princess- a little browner than Goddess
Siren- a bright purple pinkish color
Drama Queen- a little darker than Goddess
On Glam Shine's adds, they say you can recive shade advice at lorealparis.com...I couldn't find anything! Good luck with that!
Ok, lets recap:
Glam Shine is a little to sparkly for me...And a little overdone. But I do like a little amount on my lips! I don't like the color selection that Loreal has put out for this product, butI guess I'm going to have to live with that. Did I mention that this product is sticky? Overall, I like the gloss, but don't exactly love the comany! Personally, I think it's overpriced, and would probably not buy it again! But, If you do decided to buy this, I would recommend that you wear it when you go dancing! It seems like the perfect fit...Its got the right look, sexy and sparkly, and stays on your lips fairly long!
