Cons: Sticky, sticky, sticky, transfer-HIGH COLOR PIGMENTS, not just a gloss.
The Bottom Line: I truly like these glosses; No more 2 step to get great color with high sheen. Pocket perfect!

L’Oreal HIP Brilliant Shine Lipgloss
I am a huge fan of Lancôme’s Juicy Tubes lip color/gloss. I own several tubes in various shades. When Loreal introduced their HIP (high intensity pigments) line of cosmetics I knew In had to try their new lip gloss.
Loreal HIP Brilliant Shine Lipgloss comes in many different shades of color-from the palest pink to the darkest brown-you’ll find many shades to suit almost any complexion.
The biggest selling point to this gloss is color. You get pure color of that of a lipstick with the extreme shine of a gloss. The high intensity pigment gives you color that stays put-with the benefit of gloss all in one application. And it delivers HIGH shine gloss.
The Tube..
The tube contains .5 ounces of color & shine. The packaging is a transparent, squeezable tube with a round, plastic applicator top-one tiny squeeze gives you the right amount of product each time. It’s small enough to fit nicely into a pocket, or clutch.
The Shine…
I purchased mine at a local discount store which carried about a dozen or more colors priced around 8 dollars a tube. Compared to twenty I usually pay these are a great bargain.
I no longer have to use two applications in order to get a colorful, glossy shine to my lips. Since there are such a large array of colors finding one that is right for me was pretty simple. Most colors have a metallic like shimmer to them-so if you have fine lines beware. These little particles seem to settle easily defining those lines.
The Sticky…..
Lipgloss wouldn’t be lipgloss without the sticky. I love Lancôme’s tubes because it goes on smoothly, tastes yummy, smells great and isn’t sticky. Loreal (same company) tries to deliver but somehow the two just do not compare.
The lip gloss is sticky. If you apply too much you get that gunky feel. It is easily transferred from your lips to what ever surface they touch. However the color and gloss last for hours even with extreme wear.
Each tube is lightly scented and has a slightly noticeable flavor. Its not offensive and adds that little touch that makes you want to own several shades.
The color of the tube is the color you get. Remember this isn’t just a gloss but a true lip color, so if you’re only wanting shine stay way. This gloss deposit’s a lot of color with a small amount of application.
Taking Off…
Removal is a downside. I mentioned the lipgloss transferring - to anything your lips touch. Glasses, cheeks, you name it, if you can pucker up and kiss it, your gloss will cling to it. It leaves behind colored lips, gloss and shimmer so reapplication isn’t a necessary evil. The shimmer deposit is difficult to remove on its own. You cant simply wipe this way (unless you’ve used a good lip base). I use makeup remover and a soft cloth to remove all color deposits.
Reapplication is only needed about every 4 hours depending on eating drinking etc. The color varies depending on your application technique, I use a base to cover my lips to get a true color, but alone the color doesn’t turn too much on its own.
Overall…
There are many similar products that do not deliver the color and shine like L’Oreal HIP Brilliant Shine Lipgloss does. I can live with the sticky feeling, & the transfer of product as a trade off for high gloss shine and a punch of color. The packaging is great for my purse or pocket, application is simple and the price makes these easily affordable.
You can find them at most discount stores in a wide array of colors. They are great for day wear or evening wear. I own several tubes in addition to my higher end glosses & actually prefer these over the more expensive ones.
One tube lasts forever since each application has amazing staying power. There just isn’t any way you can go wrong with these glosses.
