Pros: Cleans up the fungi in a decent amount of time.
Cons: It's not pretty,but hey,it works.
I have used Lotrimin in the past when someone in my family had athlete's foot. But,did I ever think I would use it on my face! I would have said "are you crazy?".But,I am here to tell you that I have and it works very well.
What Lotrimin does is kill fungi. That is why it works for athlete's foot. Last year, I had facial reconstruction surgery. After the surgery, your face is taped from the top of your nose right down to the bottom of your neck to reduce swelling. This allows those little fungi to start growing in about 25 percent of the people who have this surgery. When the tape came off, I thought what I had was dry,raw skin and the nurse told me to use Desitin. Not knowing that I had a fungus infection, I loaded up with Desitin which literally made the fungi explode.
At this point, I was off to the doctor's office. He explained what had happened and told me to get some Lotrimin. For some reason,I had a hard time realizing that I had to put this stuff on my face. But it was either that or be eaten alive by my little fungi friends.so off to the drugstore I went.
Three times a day,I put Lotrimin all over the lower part of my face. Was I a pretty sight -not. But it worked and well. Within 24 hours,I could see a difference. Every day for two weeks,I used Lotrimin. Yes,it is greasy and it doesn't disappear quickly,so if you have to use this on a part of your body, that you can't cover, you may want to stay home. But it will clear your infection.
Most people just associate Lotrimin with athlete's foot, but you can get a fungus infection on any part of your body. It is wise to keep a tube of Lotrimin on hand.
