| demonrammstein's Full Review: Love Metal - H.I.M. Movies |
Not so long ago while watching Cky 4 Latest and Greatest, my ears heard a very smooth song. Asking my friends who were there with me at the time who it was, they said it was a band named HIM. I listened to one of their cd's called "lovemetal." I was instantly in love with the music. Buying the cd however was a different story, I went to a local record store and had to shell out $25 for the cd. The problem is that HIM cds have to be imported...well back to the review of the cd
Lovemetal Tracklist
Buried Alive By Love
The Sacrament
Beyond Redemption
Circle of Fear
Endless Dark
Funeral of Hearts
Soul on Fire
Sweet Pandamonium
The Path
If a listener is expecting to hear the happiest songs in the world, they would be severly disappointed because these songs are some of the saddest songs in the world. All of them deal with love and death and the lyrics are very goth-like.
The greatest songs on the cd to me are
Beyond Redemption
Circle of Fear
Funeral of Hearts
Sweet Pandamonium
The Path
The listener will not be shortchanged when it comes to song length. The shortest song on the cd is 4 minutes while The Path comes in at a whopping 7 minutes!
If listeners are into heavy hardcore rock, this band would not be for them. Their new cd is slower and more intricately played than their past 3 ones. There is a lot of acoustic guitars and alot of harmonic vocals.
This cd would be best listening with a significant other (i.e. a girlfriend, like me :) ) or when there is a breakup because a lot of these songs are so universal to feelings about love.
