| ImAmes's Full Review: Love to Dance Bear |
My daughter Emily, who will be 22 months old soon, has watched "Bear in the Big Blue House" for about a year now. She is fascinated with the music, the scenery, and cannot get enough of Bear himself! Some of her very first words have been "Bear," "Ojo" and "Pop." If you have no clue what I am talking about, these are all characters that helped bring the Muppets back to life. As featured on Playhouse Disney on the Disney Channel, here is where your child can get to know Bear and the gang the best! And as you find out, they want more than the show, they want a part of Bear, and here is where the "Love to Dance Bear" comes into play!
Selling anywhere between $10 on Clearance to full price of $29.99, this guy is worth every penny! You can find him at most Discount stores, the Disney Store, but you may have to start searching Ebay now because anything to do with this loveable show is hard to come by- YEP- he is THAT popular!!
So what does he do? Well, the obvious, you touch his left paw, and Bear sings his famous song, his SIGNATURE song, "The Bear Cha Cha Cha." I cannot even begin to tell you how much my daughter loves hers! She got it for Christmas from my Sister-in-Law and the first time she heard it, Emily went into this type of shoulder dance- it was hilarious!! Does he do anything else? Nope! He dances and sings that song, and THAT song only- so if you are a parent who will be drove insane by the constant playing over and over again- then BEWARE!!
Our Bear has only gone through one set of batteries since Christmas, and is VERY durable! Toddlers love to carry and drop toys wherever they darn well please, and poor Bear has been dropped everywhere and still works and looks good as new! He is furry, it is nice and soft, and he looks like the "real" Bear- just a much smaller version of him!
I would like to add that Bear works best if you set him down on a hard surface such as a floor or table so he doesn't fall over when he dances. Carpet or anything soft makes him quite unstable and toddlers have no patience for anything that keeps falling over- so heed my warning!
You can test him out in the stores, he is in an open box. Please keep in mind that what you hear in the store IS the song, but that a special tab device keeps it from playing to long and wearing bear and the batteries out. When you get him home, just pull the tab out and he will sing and dance much longer! There is no on/off switch, so keep that also in mind when purchasing him!
Even with that in mind, I HIGHLY recommend "Love to Dance Bear" for any Bear fan you know. He is so much fun to sing and dance with, and I think especially toddlers get a kick out of it!
If you love Bear and can't get enough of him, I would also like to add that he is on a Live Tour right now in which he goes city to city with the entire gang from the show and puts on a show about Tutter's Birthday. We will be seeing it this Sunday in Green Bay, WI-I can't wait! If you would like more information about the LIVE shows, please email me and I will give you the info!
