| cloxie's Full Review: Love to Dance Bear |
This is my favourite toy that our one year old got this year. Actually, she's 15 months, and a little short of the 18 month guideline, but she is a big bear fan (just like mum and dad!) and we figured she was ready for him.
Oh, we love this bear. My daughter adores him, she carries him around and plonks him on our laps to get him to dance and sing (she hasn't quite worked out how to get him to go by herself yet - she's being misled by his nose and thinks that's where you press and she can't seem to figure out the squeeze thing for his hand) and then she dances around the room like a little mad-woman. It is extremely cute.
The song is something that I thought I would find really annoying by now but we're doing fine with it. The whole family sings it and we all dance around when bear goes off. It's such a contagious song and the bear sings in such a wonderful voice.
The bear has long, soft, scraggly fur, and looks just like the bear from the TV show. You press his hand to get him to sing and he wiggles along with it. He also has the exact voice from the TV show too, which is a great touch. He only has one song, which is a shame. I would have liked to have heard the welcome and good-bye songs too, but then I am a big fan of his show!
The only thing I can think of that would be a bad point is that he seems to fall over quite easily when placed on a carpet.
She's always loved dancing, and now, thanks to bear, she wants to dance constantly and she wants to dance with people. The song is short enough that we will happily dance along with her for the whole thing, and so that it doesn't get annoying. Too many toys make it confusing for a child to work out what the results of them pressing the buttons are becuase they go on forever. This toy sings for just long enough to get a little dance in, but not so long that the child will get bored and start pressing stuff to get something new happening.
