| mom2ginamarie's Full Review: Love to Dance Bear |
The Love to Dance Bear is the character from the children’s show Bear in the Big Blue House. He’s a loveable, fuzzy, cuddly bear. Love to Dance Bear is specified for children 18 months and older, but my 10 month old loves it! {And I think he's kinda cute too (-:}
DESCRIPTION AND WHAT DOES THIS BEAR DO?
The Love to Dance Bear is about a foot tall, covered in fuzzy brown material. It looks just like the bear on TV. The feet have hard plastic on the bottom, with paw prints to imitate the look of real paws, which help the Love to Dance Bear to stay standing while he’s dancing. When you press the left hand/paw music plays–the voice of Bear sings “Cha cha cha, Ooo Laa Laa” along with music.
His mouth does not move while he’s singing, just his body to look like he’s dancing. It’s a happy song that doesn’t play too long, however it’s the ONLY song he sings in which it gets old after a few times in a row.
It runs on 3 AA batteries. Batteries do come with it, but you probably want to replace them as these toys get played in the stores quite a bit.
POSITIVE THOUGHTS
Daycare has the other Bear toy that talks and sniffs, and my daughter loves that. I saw a commercial for the Love to Dance Bear, thought it was cute and figured she’d like the music and action of this toy.
I looked past the fact the Love to Dance Bear is intended for 18 months and older kids. I have not found any safety concerns on this toy other than the batteries, which is not a concern to me as I do not let her play with the Bear unless I’m there with her.
SOME DRAWBACKS
The price is a little spendy, in my opinion, even so I still bought it because I knew my daughter would love it. I could see $15 being a more affordable price for this toy.
I can also see children getting bored with this toy quickly (versus other interactive toys they can play with longer) since the Love to Dance Bear is so limited in what it does. And it’s probably not one you’ll want to take on a long, boring, stressful car ride (or Love to Dance Bear may just be left at a rest stop along the way, lol).
