libragirlsc's Full Review: Low Impact Elliptical Trainer
The title does not reflect it, but the elliptical pictured here is the Weslo Momentum 610 Elliptical. It is a very modest priced machine that packs a big bang for the money.
Size - If you are looking for something that doesn't take up a lot of space...THIS IS IT!!! This fits on a rug that is about 2 1/2 ft. wide by 4 ft. long, it takes up about as much space as an upright exercise bike, much less than the so called space saving treadmill I owned or the total gym which was a monster!
Features: this elliptical has many features including:
* cup holder
* calories burned
* distance indicator
* speed indicator
* time indicator
* heart rate monitor (usually only found on more expensive models)
* wide pedals for comfort
* smooth ride (rides like more expensive models)
* quiet ride (i can use my elliptical while my family sits next to me watching television without disturbing them)
* gentle gliding action of an elliptical means no impact on knees
Assembly: Assembly is pretty easy and could be done by one person, but having two will make certain stages go much faster. My husband and I had it put together in about 30 minutes. The only tools you'll need are a hammer or rubber mallet, a phillips screwdriver, adjustable wrench and the allen wrenches which are included in the package. The bulk of the item is pre-assembled, you put on the arms, the neck which holds the monitor and the pedals. The most difficult part in the whole assembly was properly inserting the cable that controls the adjustable tension to vary the degree of difficulty in your workout. The cable is pre-assembled into the neck and one person will need to hold this, while a second person attaches the cable into the proper location in the body of the machine then crimp it with a wrench.
Ease of Use: Simple to use, you just step on the pedals, reset the monitor and start moving.
Carton Size: I was able to fit the box in the trunk of my Toyota Corolla
Notes - I purchased mine at K-Mart. The regular price was 169.99, but it was on sale for 149.99. The box was a little beat up so they were going to move it to the clearance section so I ended up getting it for 89.99, if you're looking for a deal on an elliptical this one is awesome even at the full price, but if you can find one in the clearance area then it might be worth the trip to the store. You can buy online from Kmart.com with free shipping.
