On my quest to find a fairly nutritious snack that tastes good, my taste buds are stumbling over several things that have left them protesting loudly. The second energy/nutrition bar I am reviewing is Clif Luna S'Mores.
When I think of S'Mores I vision a nice fire at night. Graham crackers and Hershey bars standing by waiting to wrap themselves around a nice gooey marshmallow freshly plucked off of the stick from the fire. Even though I knew a healthy "treat" could not possibly taste as good as that campfire treat, I was thinking it could be good. Afterall, if the packaging says S'Mores it HAS to resemble them, right?
Imagine my disappointment when taking the first bite. No gooey marshmallow. In fact not gooey at all, and NO marshmallow taste. Second bite - how about a chocolate bar taste? Nope! More like a carob taste, although I couldn't find any mention of carob in the ingredients. How about graham crackers? Well, the ingredients list mentions "marshmallow and graham cracker flavored nuggets." Maybe those nuggets are what made the bar so difficult to chew.
I finally gave up and let the dog finish it off. Even the dog who is the canine garbage disposal turned up his nose! And to my knowledge he's never even had a real S'Mores!
The size of the bar is comparable to a candy bar, so it is easy to carry in your purse or keep in a desk drawer. But I'd rather keep something on hand that I will enjoy eating.
Bottom Line
Bad taste, bad texture and high priced.

Is there anything good you can say about this product?
Yes. On the wrapper they advertise that a portion of the proceeds generated by the sale of Luna bars will be donated to the Breast Cancer Fund. I think that's great.
