I was a happy Lunarpages customer until the other day. For 2 years this company provided consistent uptime and speedy servers.
The main issue lies with tech support of any kind. Lunarpages does not advertise wait times and then blames customers for being angry at the substantive delays in response. Chad Riddle, a founding member of the company, admitted to me via phone that they have breakdowns in communication from tech support to people that can actually solve the problem.
As for their tech support ticketing system, Chad explains that adding additional information to a ticket places it at the bottom of the queue forcing customers to have extended wait times. When challenged that the original ticket is date/time stamp remains intact and therefore should not rotate customers to the bottom of the queue he only replied that they had not control over the 3rd party software and that all systems operate like this. When given an alternative of dumping escalations and long-term conversations into a separate queue, he had no response.
My domain was down for over 24-hours. They claim it was only me that could not see it, I have no way to verify this.
I submitted my tech issue at 8A Monday with expressly clear descriptions of the problem including what I had access and what I did not have access to in the domain and their system. After several hours got canned text that was in direct contrast to what my stated concerns were (telling me to access something that I already explained I did not have access to). Further, the canned text was in reference to another account holder (poor customer data security).
Worse, when the solution came to me it was rude, blaming my and my ISP, and arrogant. Terrible.
They claim to have attentive and responsive tech support. This is a lie in the highest order. Chad told me of the award-winning customer support. I explained that I could find a service to give me an award, create my own stats and testimonies to support the award claim but it means nothing if you cannot execute. He had no response.
Read the other reviews saying they have "no problems yet". I was there once and now would never suggest Lunarpages to anyone. Find another host with toll-free support, better reviews, easy hosting and pleasant tech support.
