Pros: Price; Super Absorbent; Pull Up type
Cons: Can't think of any?
My 3 year old is pretty much potty trained, but he still has to wear some sort of absorbent product at bedtime because he cannot stay dry overnight yet. I was buying the generic Wal-mart version of pull ups which work great, but they were not designed for my son?s bladder during the night and I was tired of him waking up because of a leak and having to bathe him and wash sheets every morning without fail! And the Overnight diapers don?t work anymore because they don?t make any that are big enough. Besides, if he?s potty trained, I don?t want him in ?diapers? at all!
So I decided to look into the Overnight Pull Ups. I wasn?t impressed with the Huggies version (the smallest size is HUGE!) and they were quite expensive. So when I saw that Luvs had come out with an Overnight Pull Up I was so happy!
Luvs SleepDrys Absorbent Underpants
These underpants are ?pull up? style, so that?s what I call them. They are very similar to all the other Pull Ups on the market, but they are designed for bigger kids and also for overnight protection. The outer covering is the soft, cloth-like material so they are quite comfortable to the touch. The inside is just like any other Pull Up or diaper, and they are designed with a super absorbent core. The waste-band is very elastic so it?s a comfortable fit, but also a snug fit which is very important!
The 3 features that Luvs uses to market these Overnight Pull Ups are:
1 - These pull-ups have a ?tag? that goes in the back, just like real underwear. It?s a black symbol with a star, and it does make life a bit easier when trying to determine the front from the back! There are no cutsie pictures on these like the smaller Pull Ups.
2 ? Elastic Waistband makes it easy to pull off and on.
3 ? These Pull Ups have a side-seam for easy tear-away removal.
These Pull Ups are specifically designed for overnight protection against leaks. That?s what I was after, so I bought a pack. Here?s how they are packaged:
Size Weight Range
M 45-65 lbs.
L 65-85 lbs.
XL 85-125 lbs.
My son only weighs 32 pounds, but the Medium size still fits him, and quite snugly I might add! I would like to see a 65-pound child try to wear the Medium, uh, that would be interesting.
Oh, and the SleepDrys do NOT have Barney on them, THANK GOD! UGH! That purple dinosaur makes me cringe! They are just plain ?ole white.
Experience With Luvs SleepDrys
I have been so pleased with these Overnight Pull Ups! They work wonderfully? way less problems with leaks and a wet kid during the night or early morning hours. We started buying these about 4 months ago and so far I can count on one hand how many leaks we?ve had. This is much better than what we were having. Before buying these, the poor child would wake up soaking wet 4 out of 7 days a week! Something had to give! The regular daytime pull-ups just were not designed for nighttime use. These SleepDrys have been a lifesaver!
They fit him wonderfully, and they seem comfortable to him. He doesn?t tug or pull at them, and he doesn?t walk funny when he has them on. He slips into them just like regular underwear and does just fine. And they keep him dry overnight which is a huge benefit for him and for me!
This product is also much cheaper than the Huggies Overnight version of Pull Ups. I think they are called ?Goodnights?. They are like $4 - $5 more per package! That is a LOT! So I?m quite pleased that Luvs came out with this product! They work and they save me money!
If you have a toddler that is too big for the Overnight Diapers, and he/she still needs some overnight protection from leaks and/or bed-wetting, I highly recommend these! I have been very pleased with them and will continue to purchase them until my son can stay dry overnight.
