Pros: Creamy, rich coverage. It really covers-up
Cons: A practiced hand is needed to apply this slightly tacky formula
I have used MAC cosmetics for about 12 years, and I love the entire line. In their foundations, I have used the liquid, the Studio-Fix and the Full Coverage formulas. This review is for the Full Coverage Foundation only.
I have sensitive skin, and on occasion suffer from break outs. MAC Full Coverage Foundation does not aggravate my skin in any way, and is effective in covering blemishes, dark circles, and evening out skin tone.
I apply MAC with a finger or makeup sponge. The formula is slightly "tacky" and that makes application a little tricky until you get the hang of it. The foundation is most effective when it is "patted" on, not rubbed. It will definitely cover up what you put it on!
Caution is needed when applying this foundation in areas where you have tiny lines or wrinkles. Too much foundation will "crack" very quickly, and the wrinkles end up being accentuated rather than covered. A light touch is very necessary when using this creamy formula.
Now, here is my little secret opinion: I like MAC Full Coverage Foundation as a concealer better than a foundation. I purchased two shades, N2 and NC2. One I use for my undereye circles, where I am covering more of a bluish tint, and the other I use for blemish cover up where the skin tone is redder. I used MAC concealer before in its little .05 ounce container until a MAC salesperson told me how much cheaper it is to use the full coverage foundation. And they are the same formula!
The foundation comes in a compact-type container, holding one ounce of product. Depending on your usage, this foundation should last a long time. You'll probably want to replace it before you run out due to hygienic concerns. The container has been redesigned, and it is a nice improvement over the previous container that had a screw-on/off lid. The active ingredients are titanium dioxide 2.0% and methoxycinnamate 5.0%.
I recommend MAC Full Coverage Foundation because it does what it says, give full coverage, in a variety of shades and skin tones, and does not aggravate my sensitive skin. It is attractively packaged and not too expensive. However, I like it much better as a concealer (to be followed with a dusting of MAC Studio Fix) than as a foundation. If you need a quite heavy foundation of high quality, this would be an excellent choice.
