Recently while browsing the new stuff at MAC, one not so pleasant Make-Up Artist basically forced me to purchase an item I really don't need. I received a little makeover and one of the items she applied on me was their new Mineralize Blush.

I like blush, but I'm not blush crazy, one blush is enough for me, I don't need twenty different ones like I need eyeshadows and lipglosses. But I certainly liked the way this one looked on me.

MAC Mineralize Blush is a baked pressed powder mineral blush. It is packaged in a round compact with a window on the front through which the blush can be seen. On the window is the word MAC. This product does not come with an applicator or a mirror. Each compact holds 0.11 ounces of product. It is available in eight shades: Warm Soul, Dainty, Love Joy, Gleeful, Gentle, Love Thing, Merrily and Nuance.

These colors are all very pigmented yet sheer. They are layerable if you need deeper color and can be sheer, all the colors have a very pretty gold pearl shimmer finish. The shade I got is Dainty, this is described my MAC as " Light yellow pink with gold pear". I'd have to agree it is a soft golden pink, that looks much more natural on my cheeks then it appears in the packaging. DUH!!

I use my blush brush to apply this blush, it is very smooth and silky, I apply it with a light hand. This color is perfect for me, it gives my cheeks just the right hint of soft pink. It also provides a pretty luminescent finish in one swipe, no need for a separate product.

Unfortunately I've noticed that this blush doesn't last as long on me as the average powder blush, most last about 6-8 hours, and this one about 4. I love the way it looks, how smooth and easy it is to apply, but there are a few other complaints I have.

Since this is a baked blush, it is domed which led me to believe that there is more product here then in the regular MAC Powder Blush. The regular blush contains 0.21 ounces of product and the Mineralized contains almost half of that. The Mineralized is also $3.00 more expensive which isn't a big deal, but getting half less of the product is.

This is supposed to be a mineral product, yet it contains Talc as the very first ingredient. How stupid does MAC think we are? I'm definitely returning this blush, I didn't want to get it to begin with, I found all these things I don't like about it so I'll be returning it. I have other blushes that last all day on me and I don't have any trouble using.
