Judging from this and other reviews, it looks like Platinum Plus is the kiss of death with this company: a great wrench in the works that exposes the problems they create. How ironic, when those who qualify for the status should be considered better credit risks to MBNA.

Your review got a VH from me because it was thorough, honest, and (I think) fair. Good job; I'll be reading a few more from you on this subject.

MBNA is now the # 2 credit card issuer in the world right behind Citigroup.

They strive to be a customer service oriented bank, but their problem is their rates and fees, and their good customers are leaving them for other banks with better offers.

MBNA bought out two other credit cards I had. Once they had the accounts, they took away the perks and changed the terms. I cancelled the accounts, and I'm sure lots of other people did, too. I don't like this bank at all.
