Pros: Nice and Clear
Cons: Aluminum Legs let go without warning, bad customer service. no support on parts after warranty
The Bottom Line: Don't purchase this type of telescope and beware the amount of money you spend because you will NOT get parts unless you keep buying an extended warranty!

It seemed like a great telescope at the beginning. But there turned out to be quite a few problems. The Retractable legs that allow you to move from a short tripod or a larger tripod are terrible. The clips that hold the legs in place are awful and very cheap! We have only had our telescope for two years and are very careful with it. The weight of the actual telescope is too much for the legs. We used the telescope during the Lunar Eclipse and then brought it back into our home. Stood it up where we always stand it and a half hour later heard a very large bang in the room only to find that the legs let go and the entire Telescope had hit the floor and broke into many pieces.
The aluminum legs are horrible!!! Additionally, when I called Meade, they DO NOT carry parts for their telescope. You have to keep purchasing their warranties after the original warranty to get any type of support. If you DO NOT purchase their warranty........you get no parts or replacements or any type of help!!!
Buyer beware on MEADE telescopes! They warranty NOTHING after you have paid over 400.00-700.00.
