My hand wash ran out.  And I was sad.  I figured I should go out and buy a new bottle.  Well, I did, actually, even though I knew there were refills, but my bottle squeezey mechanism wasn't working right, so it was on the second round that I bought a whole pouch full of pink grapefruit goodness.

Method is well aware that being eco-friendly means packaging as well.  So instead of making us go out and buy a bottle every time, they've crafted a pouch.  It's still plastic, and it holds a lot, but since it's not a stiff bottle, it takes a lot less materials and energy to make.  That means it's lean n'green.  According to them, 83% less.  Boo-yah.

It's a great pouch too.  It does indeed hold oodles of soap, so to be quite honest, be sure you pick the scent you want because you're going to be stuck with it for a while.  Haha.  You get 1 liter of soap.  That's 34 ounces.  That's just over 2 pounds of soap.  How many refills does it offer?  I don't know.  No, really, I don't.  I lost count.  Five?  Sometimes I'd look at my little Method bottle and think, "Aww, he needs a refill," so that little teardrop shape was all pink and happy again.  Just know that you're going to have a lot of soap on your hands (...haha.  Totally wrote that by accident, but hey, it works!)

Just because it's in thin, plastic pouch form, don't think it's not going to stand up.  The plastic is pretty strong and crafted so that the bottom opens up and flattens out so it sits up nicely.  At the top is a little spout, maybe about 1cm in diameter for pouring.  It's the perfect size.  I've never spilled.  Heck, I don't even take the pump all the way out of the bottle when I pour.  And there's something satisfying about seeing all that pink soap goo it's way into the bottle.  The little bubbles trapped inside make it pretty.  Shut up, I'm a girl!  I like pretty things.  Those guys at Method knew what they had when they first conjured up this company (no joke, I'm reading The Method Method right now).

So if your hand wash is running out, pick up some pink grapefruit because it's nice, mellow, and just a bit fruity.  I actually don't even think guys will really mind because as long as the soap cleans well, they're good, right?  Don't worry guys, it's not like you're going to smell like pink grapefruit all day.  And besides, you can't even really smell like the color pink, remember?  Just grapefruit.  And the only way anyone will know that is if they grab your hand and smell it.  And that's just weird.

And on an extremely random note, did you know that the French word for grapefruit was pamplemousse?  I've never been all that into the French language, but I think that is one of the best words ever.  No really, I'm not making that up.  It's on the pouch and everything!
